Happy 11 month birthday sweet baby C! So what did month 10 bring that leads us to your 11th month...your final month as an infant before you formally move into the category of "toddler?" It feels like you change daily, if not hourly. This month you finished your "Dolphin Pups I" class and went from a scared, sheepish little infant in the water to a sparky professional kicker n' scooper who smiles n' screeches in the water. While you don't walk yet, you are happiest upright, or crawling at record speeds (and quite loudly...you can hear you crawling 2 floors away as the clonk, clonk, clonk of your little hands and knees zip across the floor!) You are known at daycare as "the little girl who doesn't take no for an answer." You're persistent and determined and while you know what "hands off" means, you push the bar as far as you can. We're pretty sure you' re not going to be a "feminine shy little toddler" in your next phase of life. You went on your first adventure this month...a plane trip to Washington DC to visit cousins. You did fabulously on the airplane, even with your terrible looking full-body rash (that we're still uncertain what it was). You loved the visit (so did I) and we got some great photos out of the deal. Your cute little smile won over all the passengers near us and you slept for a majority of both flights. This month you also got to see your Grandmas and Grandpas. A few weeks ago you got to go to your Great Grandpa's 80th birthday party and at the same time spend some time with G'ma n' G'pa S and Aunty C. and Uncle T. G'ma S. even bought you a great swing so you could enjoy some outside time. Last week G'ma and G'pa M made the long trek to come take care of you while daycare was closed. You loved all the hands-on attention you got and we all loved having them here for a visit. We wish they all lived a bit closer! This month has also been the introduction of "separation anxiety" in full form. You thought the world was coming to an end when I walked 5' away from you in the grocery store last week. It's heartbreaking seeing the look on your face when I walk away. Thankfully, you seem to recover relatively quickly. By the 3rd day of G'ma n' G'pa's visit, you couldn't care less if I left for a month as long as you were in G'ma's arms.
Anyway, month 10 has been so much fun. Your Daddy and I love spending every possible minute with you. You're a source of constant amazement and joy for us and we've never been more thankful for anything in our entire lives. Happy 11th month birthday sweet baby girl, we love you.
-Mommy n' Daddy
